Vocation Day in Miami
Yesterday we had a beautiful day with 8 young women. We came together to begin Holy Week in attentiveness to God's Word and shared prayer, friendship, space and time, and God's love.
Here are their names for you to remember in prayer:
Ana Carolina, Manuela, Juliana, Ana Luiza, Roberta, Silvana, Vanessa and Auravelia (who's from Toronto and has been in discernment with our sisters there. She's now doing an internship here in Miami with the Bella film promotion.)
Still in Los Angeles! Avoiding the winter in Boston as it sputters from cold to warmer to surprise snow storms. March, as they say, comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. I hope to catch the beginning of the lamb stage on my return.
The picture attached to this article shows our booths at the Annual LA Rel Ed Congress which concluded on Sunday. I joined six sisters from around the US/Toronto and two sisters from our editiorial department in Boston. We all flew in for the Congress. Along with the community of Los Angeles we prepared, set up the booth and then assisted the over 20,000 catechists in attendance. This is the third time I have attended the Congress. Once in 1983 again in 2004 and now in 2008. The talks are still avaiable for purchase at the LA Congress web site (just click on the title of this blog entry for access.) The presenters were all good with great insights into sharing the faith today. Sr Rose gave a presentation on the film Into Great Silence.
Now I am meeting with the Merhandising Team of four sisters from New York, Honolulu, Los Angeles and New Orleans. This team of sisters choose the gifts and art for all the Pauline Books & Media cetners. This meeting is for the coming Advent/Christmas Season. We will meet again in August for the First Communion/Confirmation season (Lent/Easter). I return to Boston on Sunday.
Next trip - San Antonio, TX for the annual Evangelization Team meeting.
