Call to prayer for Archbishop Pietro Sambi (RIP), Apostolic Nuncio to U.S.A.

Dear Pauline Family & Friends,

Please pray for Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Apostolic Nuncio to U.S.A., who passed away. May God grant Archbishop Sambi eternal rest & may He let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Let us keep Archbishop Sambi's wishes alive. In our small way, let us continue -- through prayers & actions -- our co-operation in bringing forth "a new wind of Pentecost ... a new springtime" to the Church in the U.S.A. and to the world. By virtue of our baptism, we could all keep his wishes alive in our souls, hearts, & minds.

Many thanks for your solidarity in spirit & prayer.

Respectfully,
Margie Skeels

Beatitudes - Matthew 5:1-12 (from The Sacred Bible)

Dear Pauline Family & Friends,

This Sunday 24 July 2011, let us take leave of the busy world and in the quiet space in our small corner of the world, let us listen with the ears of our hearts to refresh our souls by reflecting on the Sermon of Jesus, Our Master, from Matthew's Gospel, Chapter 5, verses 1 to 12, from The Sacred Bible.

(5:1} Then, seeing the crowds, he ascended the mountain, and when he had sat down, his disciples drew near to him,
{5:2} and opening his mouth, he taught them, saying:
{5:3} “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
{5:4} Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the earth.
{5:5} Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be consoled.
{5:6} Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they shall be satisfied.
{5:7} Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
{5:8} Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
{5:9} Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
{5:10} Blessed are those who endure persecution for the sake of justice, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
{5:11} Blessed are you when they have slandered you, and persecuted you, and spoken all kinds of evil against you, falsely, for my sake:
{5:12} be glad and exult, for your reward in heaven is plentiful. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Let us thank God for the beatitudes which will accompany us tonight, tomorrow and beyond. God's blessings are ever present, powerful, and full of knowledge and love. May God inflame your hearts and mine with faith, hope, charity & love today and always. Amen.

Respectfully,

Amen. May God grant complete healing to the people who suffered injury. Amen. May God bless, console and protect all the people of Norway during this difficult time through Jesus, Our Divine Master, Way, Truth and Life. Amen.

In solidarity, let us pray for the people of Norway who are stalwarts among the family of nations in their strong long-standing role in peace-making & in the development of humanity around the world.

Solidarity on Corpus Christi 2011

Dear Pauline Family & Friends,

The United Nations Parish in New York City was blessed with the Vigil Mass celebration of Corpus Christi Feast Day in 2011. In particular, His Beatitude, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, made a meaningful connection in his homily of how the words in the Gospel were proclaimed in the Holy Land some two millennia ago by Our Divine Master, Jesus Christ.

He encouraged people from all nations to come on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and to continue to pray in solidarity for our brothers and sisters in Christ who live in the Holy Land. Let us unite in prayer with His Beatitude and where possible pray for the success in support of Christianity in the Holy Land and beyond.

Let us continue to grow in faith and in the implementation of our mission of spreading the Good News.

May Christ live in us and in all of humanity, through Mary, Our Mother & the Queen of Apostles & St. Paul the Apostle. Amen.

Blessed James Alberione, please pray for the intentions of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem.

In Christ's peace,

Margie Skeels
